Jihad Alkenani

Jihad is a mechatronics engineering graduate from the Hashemite University in Jordan. His outstanding graduation project, the “Rubik’s Cube Solving Robot”, earned him first place in the College of Engineering. With a passion for engineering, Jihad underwent extensive training and acquired many certifications as an international trainer in creative engineering and worked as a trainer in the Jordanian Ministry of Youth. Then as Senior Maintenance Engineer at HITEX Company.

Driven by his ambition, Jihad was selected as one of only five engineers worldwide in 2021 to pursue a joint master’s degree EU4M across four European countries: Germany, France, Russia, and Spain. Throughout his master’s studies, he actively participated in diverse projects, including a sailing boat simulation initiative in Germany. His research thesis focused on developing patch antenna technology for the precise control of microrobots within the human body.

Currently, Jihad is embarking on his doctoral journey as part of the AUFRANDE program, commencing at the University of ENIB in France and collaborating with UniSA University in Australia alongside the industrial expertise of the Noval Group. His PhD thesis “Supporting Cross-reality Robotic Interaction Using VR/AR,” aims to expand human potential and capabilities in creating sophisticated and safe robotic solutions. By leveraging virtual reality, this innovative approach enables cost-effective and time-saving development of robots while ensuring feasibility and safety prior to their deployment in the real world.


Jihad’s research interests lie in the fields of robotics, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Specifically, he focuses on developing intelligent and autonomous robotic systems, improving human-computer interfaces for seamless interaction, and creating immersive experiences in virtual and augmented reality environments. These areas of research have the potential to revolutionize various industries and enhance human experiences with technology.

In terms of personal interests and hobbies, he has a passion for car racing, diving and skydiving. Exploring new destinations and immersing himself in different cultures through travel. Furthermore, staying updated on the latest advancements in science is a particular hobby of his.
