Dr. Tim Chen

Dr. Tim Chen is an expert in Human-AI Interaction and Spatial Computing, leading the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at the University of Adelaide. His research focuses on leveraging emerging technologies to create interactive AI systems that collaborate with knowledge workers, with a particular emphasis on healthcare. As a CI of the IMAGENDO Project, Dr. Chen led the development of AI systems for sonographer guidance. IMAGENDO won the 2023 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for its innovative use of AI in diagnosing endometriosis. Additionally, he serves as the University of Adelaide’s research lead for the Augmenting Ability CRC, where his work focuses on adaptive AI for decision support in aged and disability care.
