Sebin Sebastian Xavier

UGA and Macquarie

About

Sebin hails from Kochi, a port city in south India’s coastal Kerala state.
Sebin completed his master’s degree in photonics at Cochin University of Science and Technology. His master’s thesis was on studying nonlinear transmission in dielectrics and the time of flight study of argon clusters with femtosecond laser excitation.
After completing his degree, he joined Raman Research Institute as a Research Assistant with the Ultrafast and Nonlinear Optics Group, where he studied the nonlinear absorption of materials and characterisation of laser-produced plasma from metallic and nonmetallic substances. His work contributed to a deeper understanding of laser-matter interactions, an area with broad applications in spectroscopy, high-energy physics, and optical engineering.

Interests

In his free time, Sebin enjoys outdoor sports but nothing dangerous. He is likely reading or discussing several topics if you don’t find him on a badminton court or a football turf. His interest in learning about laser-matter phenomena drives his motivation to do research.
