About
Aamir Ejaz hails from a small village of Sargodha, Pakistan, where he developed a strong academic foundation in chemistry and physics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics & Chemistry with a keen interest in electronics and modern physics, which laid the groundwork for his analytical and research-oriented mindset. His academic journey continued with a MSc in Chemistry and an MPhil in Chemistry from the University of Sargodha, where he achieved a remarkable CGPA of 3.83/4.00. Aamir is also a recipient of the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship, recognizing his academic excellence and research potential. His thesis focused on the green synthesis of gold nanoparticles and their applications, showcasing his expertise in nanomaterials and characterization techniques.
Additionally, he has worked on high-temperature CO2 reduction, including the Reverse Water-Gas Shift (RWGS) reaction, and conducted in-situ mechanistic studies using Raman spectroscopy, demonstrating his proficiency in advanced catalytic and spectroscopic methods. As a PhD candidate, he will be working on Hexagonal SiGe Laser on silicon substrate co-hosted by EC Lyon (France) and RMIT (Australia). His published work on gold nanoparticles further highlights his ability to design and analyse nanomaterials, a skill transferable to the epitaxial growth and fabrication of hexagonal SiGe structures.
Beyond research, Aamir is passionate about mentoring students, career counselling, and community service, as evidenced by his leadership in educational initiatives. He has also enjoyed teaching Chemistry and Physics to undergraduates and High school students. Fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi, he thrives in multicultural environments. His blend of technical expertise and dedication to innovation makes him a strong candidate for advancing hexagonal SiGe photonics.

In his leisure time, Aamir enjoys playing cricket, watching documentaries on environmental science, and listening to music—activities that balance his scientific pursuits with relaxation and inspiration.
