About

Hassaan Bin Shahid is from Lahore, a city known as the heart of Pakistan, and has always been passionate about advancing energy storage technologies. His academic journey reflects a strong dedication to research and innovation in materials science and electrochemistry.

He completed his master’s degree at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) with an outstanding GPA of 3.9/4.0. His research focused on solid-state electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries, particularly addressing their interfacial stability and electrochemical performance. His work in the field of batteries has contributed to the broader effort of making solid-state batteries more viable for commercial applications.

Hassaan’s research experiences span multiple international collaborations. He worked with the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) on interfacial challenges in solid-state electrolytes, a critical bottleneck in next-generation battery development.

Additionally, as part of a World Bank-funded project, he contributed to the synthesis and assembly of pouch cells, gaining practical experience in battery fabrication and scaling up prototype production.

Now pursuing his PhD with AUFRANDE, jointly enrolled at Deakin University and the University of Orléans under CNRS, Hassaan is focused on transport characterization and the development of sodium batteries. His research aims to enhance the efficiency, safety, and longevity of these systems, contributing to the global push for more sustainable energy storage solutions.

Through his research and collaborations, Hassaan has developed a deep understanding of battery materials and energy storage systems. He is excited to contribute to advancements in sodium batteries and hopes his work will help bridge the gap between laboratory research and real-world applications. With a strong academic background and hands-on experience, he looks forward to tackling new challenges in the field and making a meaningful impact on the future of sustainable energy.

Interests

Beyond academics, Hassaan enjoys unwinding by watching shows, listening to music, and traveling. He finds inspiration in exploring new places and cultures, which broadens his perspective and fuels his curiosity.
