About

Luke O’Dell is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Frontier Materials at Deakin University.  He obtained his PhD at the University of Warwick, UK, in 2007, carried out post-doctoral research in solid-state NMR with Professor Mark Smith (Warwick) and Professor Robert Schurko (University of Winsdor, Ontario, Canada), and also worked as a Research Associate in the Steacie Institute for Molecular Sciences (NRC Canada).  His research focuses on the development and application of magnetic resonance based techniques (including liquid and solid-state NMR, DNP and MRI) to study structure and dynamics in functional materials, particularly novel ion-conducting electrolytes such as ionic liquids, organic ionic plastic crystals and polymers.
