About

He obtained his PhD in 1996 working on the field of quantum optics, demonstrating quantum non-demolition measurements of optical fields. After his PhD, he worked as a an “Alexander von Humblodt fellow” a postdoctoral position at Konstanz University in Germany, working on the field of quantum optics and coherent interactions in rare-earth ions doped materials. He joined CNRS in 1999, working on nonlinear and coherent optics with crystals doped with rare-earth ions, slow light propagation, developing a nanophotonic platform based on GaInP for strong interaction with Rb atoms. He is also still actively working on the field of quantum optics conducting quantum experiments based on thin film lithium niobate material.
