Prof. Michael Deschamps
About
Michaël Deschamps is a full professor of materials chemistry at the University of Orléans (France), and headed the “NMR and Materials” group for several years at the CNRS laboratory CEMHTI (Extreme Conditions and Materials: High Temperature and Irradiation).
He obtained his PhD on xenon-131 and protein NMR methods in 2001 with Prof. Geoffrey Bodenhausen (ENS, Paris) and spent 3 years a post-doctoral scientist and EMBO fellow at the University of Oxford in Prof. Iain Campbell’s group, where he worked on fibronectins structural characterization. He was recruited in Orléans in Dominique Massiot’s group as a “Maître de Conférences” and was promoted to “Professeur” in 2013.
Prof. M.Deschamps’ research is focused on the characterization of materials by NMR, with applications in batteries and supercapacitors, and he authored around 90 peer-reviewed papers.
