About

Songhao Gao started his academic journey at Shanghai University, where he successfully completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.During his undergraduate career, Songhao Gao dedicated himself to the study of Vibration, with a particular emphasis on the research of squeeze film dampers.

From 2019 to 2022, he furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Master’s degree in Mechanical Design and Theory at Shanghai University, specializing in bearing fault detection and the prediction of remaining useful life. During this period, Songhao Gao showed a profound interest in condition monitoring and machine learning.

Upon completing his studies at Shanghai University, Songhao Gao joined the German company, Siemens, as an Industrial AI Engineer. His work mainly included industrial parameter optimization and mechanical condition monitoring. However, the challenges he faced in the field of condition monitoring motivated him to pursue a PhD career. He believes his research in AI-Assisted Condition Monitoring based on Data-Driven Optimal Signal Processing will help him go further both in the industry and academia.

Interests

His research interests include Signal Processing, Optimization, Machine Learning, and Condition Monitoring.

Outside of the academia Songhao enjoys going for hikes, football, and basketball.
